Forensic Computing MSc/PgDip/PgCert

Forensic Computing is a dynamic area of criminal investigation, with new tools, techniques and methods regularly becoming available to both  investigators and the investigated.  The MSc, PgDip and PgCert courses aim to meet these forensic computing needs.

The courses, aimed at the practitioners in this rapidly developing discipline are taught both by Cranfield University lecturers and by external consultants.   Many of these are world leaders in their field, who understand the problems of translating theory into practice.

The PGCert aims to educate and prepare students to provide effective support as Analysts, within the forensic computing community for the recovery of digital evidence.  The PGDip and MSc courses deepen and extend this  knowledge preparing students to present clear, concise technical evidence, and where necessary, in courts of law.

The Centre for Forensic Computing, which is a part of the Department of Engineering and Applied Science, manage the postgraduate courses in Forensic Computing. The courses are supported by the Training sub-committee of the Digital Evidence Group comprising representatives of ACPO, HM Revenue & Customs, the Forensic Science Service and the Serious Fraud Office.
