Information Operations and Influence Activity

Thank you for your interest in our series of courses that explore the science of Hearts and Minds

We currently offer two core programmes of study.

  • Information Operations (Info Ops) Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert)
  • Advanced Professional Short Course (APSC) Programme

Both course programmes run over 18 months in 3 consecutive 6 month blocks. At the start of each block is a residential school at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom. For the PgCert Course the residential is 5 days and for the APSC Programme the residential is 3 days. Following these residential schools the rest of the course is conducted online with exercises and discussions.

The courses follow the same syllabus, but they differ in their requirements for entry and completion

The PgCert has several entry requirements (see below) and it is awarded on the basis of earning 60 Masters Level Credits assessed through 5 essays. This version of the course requires 600 learning hours, which means you will have to study approximately 8 hrs per week over 18 months. If for any reason you are unsure about meeting the level of commitment required to undertake a full Postgraduate Qualification we offer the first third of the postgraduate course as an Accredited Short Course. This format allows you the opportunity to experience postgraduate study without committing yourself to the full programme up front.

The APSC version of the course has no formal qualification or language level entry requirements and it is not formally assessed. For this version of the course the online activities are optional, this means it can be completed as 3 residential courses only.

Our next intake for both programmes is in Jan 2012 and then Jan 2013 thereafter, please apply as soon as possible as the application process can take 4-8 weeks depending on your status and nationality.
