Explosives Science
The Department of Engineering and Applied Science conducts research, testing and evaluation and undertakes teaching in all aspects of explosives science.
The Department has expertise in detonics, thermochemistry, explosives testing, stability and ageing, and in combustion. Its scientists are active in developing new test methods for explosives and in generating the data required for mathematical models used to assess explosives safety and performance.
