Explosives Safety

The Department of Engineering and Applied Science has a broad experience of explosives safety. Staff in the Department have been involved in the development of explosives safety management systems and tools. Work includes development of explosive risk software, cost benefit methods for Insensitive Munitions (IM) and the production of explosives site safety cases and risk assessments. Advice is also provided to the acquisition community on Ordnance Munitions and Explosives (OME) safety cases and more recently on the development of environmental cases for munitions.
