Communications and Wireless Networks Group
The Communications and Wireless Networks Group provides a focus for the teaching and research activities of the Department of Informatics and Sensors (DoIS) with regard to commercial and military communication systems and wireless networks.
The Group's research interest lies predominantly in the development of broadband radio systems for the provision of civilian and military radio services and data links.
Laboratory facilities include a fully-equipped microwave lab with a large (25'x12'x12') anechoic chamber and a networks simulation lab. The labs are available as a resource to other research groups, academic departments and industry.
The Group has several full-time postgraduate students and welcomes applications from highly-motivated candidates wishing to pursue their studies within a world-class research environment.
Our short courses cover civilian and defence topics at introductory or advanced levels.
