Centre for Archaeological and Forensic Analysis

The Centre for Archaeological and Forensic Analysis provides a wide range of scientific and analytical expertise for the archaeological and forensic communities. It specialises in the application of scientific techniques to a range of archaeological and forensic problems including provenance, dating and identity.

Utilising its own resources in addition to those of established partners in other departments and elsewhere, the Centre offers analysis in all materials, organic and inorganic, but is especially strong in ceramics, glass and bone.

The Centre provides a focus for teaching in both archaeology and forensics, running short courses and MSc degrees. It encourages PhD research, often linking with established archaeology departments elsewhere to provide a wider range of training.
