The Centre for Defence Engineering is the focus for all Defence Engineering and Technology activity within the Department of Engineering and Applied Science. The Centre consists of the following groups:

The Centre for Defence Engineering offers a wide range of short courses in Defence Engineering both at Shrivenham and also on customer’s premises. Research
Research is an important element of academic activity. The majority of our students are sponsored by the MoD and industrial sponsors, and currently the Centre is sponsoring 8 PhD and 2 MSc by research candidates. The subject areas cover a wide range of disciplines including ammunition design, vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics and airframe studies.
Consultancy:
