Applied Mathematics and Scientific Computing Group

Welcome to the Applied Mathematics and Scientific Computing Group home page. It is responsible for all the mathematics, statistics and operational research teaching within DCMT. The expertise of the staff covers a wide range of interests including applied mathematical techniques, numerical methods, scientific software, statistics, operational research and simulation. It offers a number of funded places to students wishing to study for a one year MSc degree by research.

 

Advanced CFD methods for determing forces and loads on buildings as a result of high explosive detonations is a growing area of expertise leading. Our ProSAir tool (http://www.cranfield.ac.uk/cds/amsc/prosair.jsp) is about to made commercially available for such calculations.
