Support Cranfield

Cranfield Chemist in Laboratory

Many former students find great satisfaction in ensuring that the Cranfield tradition continues, providing career-changing and life-enhancing opportunities for future generations, as it did for them.

If you feel you would like to give something back, please do get in touch.  There are many ways you can contribute - not all of them financial - and you, or your business, may reap the rewards of your philanthropy, through establishing new business contacts or supporting talented students.

We value every contribution – large or small, from individuals or corporations.

You can give back to Cranfield in many ways:

Support a Scholarship - Royal Charter 40th anniversary Heritage scholarships

Marking 40 years since the University received its Royal Charter giving us formal degree-awarding powers, the Vice Chancellor Professor Sir John O'Reilly is delighted to announce three new scholarship funds:

These scholarships recognise the importance of the work that was done in these specific areas of expertise.  These areas have played a key role in the development of the University we know today and will keep alive our strong traditions in these fields.

The scholarships will recognise outstanding potential among postgraduate students who are most likely to make a significant impact in their field and who will carry the impressive reputation of these groups forward.

All three have been made possible through the generous financial support of alumni, current and former staff, and friends of the University.  However, we are still encouraging donations to these funds, to award these scholarships annually.  There has never been a better time to contribute - until July 2011, these scholarships will benefit from UK-Government matched funding.  When combined with gift aid and tax relief, this will increase the value of your donation to almost double your original gift.

If you are interested in contributing to any of these scholarships, please click on one of the above scholarship links to complete a gift form or contact us at alumni@cranfield.ac.uk.

Offer a placement

Our MSc students are required to undertake projects to solve real-life problems in real-life environments as part of their study. By offering a work placement, you are supporting Cranfield students, resolving a workplace issue and showcasing your business to high-quality candidates. Please contact us to find out more.

Consider Cranfield for your research and consultancy

You have first-hand experience of the world-class faculty and facilities we have to offer here at Cranfield - please recommend us to colleagues who are seeking partners for research or consultancy projects.  We have an international reach and work with some of the biggest names in the business, so you can be sure of our professionalism and commitment.

Share your expertise

As a Cranfield graduate with industry experience, you are likely to be a valuable mentor for our students.  Our alumni also generously donate their time and expertise in helping Cranfield ensure our courses remain industry-focused and leading edge.  Contact us if you would like to get involved – as course industry representative, guest lecturer or by contributing to our Industrial Advisory Panels, helping to shape future courses.

Give your views

You may wish to help shape the policies and strategies of the University.   Our alumni are always encouraged to strengthen links with Cranfield, particularly through Convocation. Contact us for details on how you can share your views.

Join an international or ‘special interest’ alumni group

The Cranfield alumni community is an enviable network of men and women across the world.  You can be part of this network via our secure password-protected internet directory Cranfield Alumni Online.  You may also wish to join one of our international or special interest alumni groups or one of our social media groups, such as Facebook or LinkedIn.

Volunteering

Contact The Cranfield Trust and join 650 like-minded people who provide free management advice for UK-based charities. Or, if you are qualified in soil, water or the environment, consider working for SAFAD, a Cranfield charity aimed at relieving poverty in developing countries.

Legacy Giving

The University is honoured to receive legacies from our alumni and friends.  We understand that such pledges are bestowed only after much careful consideration and you may have firm views about whom it should benefit. We treat all pledges with the utmost respect, and you can be assured that your donation will be used according to your wishes. Please contact us if you would like to pursue this avenue.

Spread the word

Finally, if you feel you have benefited from your time at Cranfield, please recommend us to others, so they may do the same.  A large proportion of our students say that they came to Cranfield through word-of-mouth recommendation, so your personal support is very important to us.

Finally, the University would like to thank sincerely all our alumni and friends for their on-going generous support.
