- Economic Through Life System development, why Cost Engineering (CE), Cost as a business driver, managing cost drivers
- CE principles and techniques, cost modelling techniques, whole life costing, cost of hardware development and manufacture, cost of through life support
- Dynamic cost modelling, Knowledge management for Cost Engineering, affordability engineering, risk analysis and uncertainty management
- Cost Engineering case studies: COST STUDIO® and other software tools.
On successful completion of this module the delegate will gain:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of whole life cost and affordability to support complex engineering equipment/assets through life
- Have knowledge and understanding of cost engineering principles and procedures for managing through life support
- Have an appreciation of how to collect, organise, and evaluate data for developing cost estimates
- Analyse uncertainty and risk associated with the cost estimation
- Demonstrate appreciation of industrial challenges in cost engineering
- Have working knowledge on a manual technique and industry standard software based cost estimating.
